Thread: CIHAS Concierge -Swimwear

I mentioned last week that I wanted to talk about swimwear. My thinking was that I’d curate a selection of swimmers that I liked the look of, with a focus on brands that were vaguely sustainable, had good size-inclusivity, and didn’t get saggy bums after two wears. But as I was asking my friends and consulting various group chats I realised, this is so incredibly personal. 

What I look for and need in a swimsuit is probably not even close to what you need in a swimsuit. But I want everyone to feel great in their bodies this summer. That will inevitably mean getting in water at some point. I want you to take up space at the pool/the beach/the swimming ponds, wherever. We are not ashamed of our bodies; we are not hiding our bodies. 

Something else emerged from this lowkey solicitation of my friends; regardless of whether or not they could give me a specific recommendation, almost everyone had opinions on what not to get (You Swim had a lot of bad reviews!!). 

So, rather than me giving you suggestions for things that might not be anywhere close to what you need, I figure we can just ask each other? Someone in the CIHAS universe will be able to recommend the perfect swimsuit for you!

Here’s how it’s going to work - you state what kind of thing you’re looking for. Give as much information as you can. What’s right for an adult only vacation at a resort is a very different vibe from building sandcastles on the beach or lane swimming at the lido. What kind of style do you want? 1-piece? 2-piece? Swim skirt? Something more modest? Do you have big boobs and need some extra support (like a built in bra)? Do you want full butt coverage, or are you ok with a little cheek showing? Do you want adjustable straps, or is a halter style OK? Do you want something patterned and colourful or minimal and unfussy? Let us know if there’s a particular colour or print you like! And say what sizing you need - maybe best just to say straight/plus size instead of numbers. 

And then!! You read other people’s requests, and if you have something that sounds like it might work for their specific situation, drop a link babe!
