Since we paused the podcast over the summer – for those of you who don't know Lucy's work is taking her in a different direction – there's been nowhere to share the things I've been snacking on. So I figured we should do a good old-fashioned links roundup. Keep reading for things to watch, read, eat, buy, and possibly the perfect pair of jeans?

I was in Margate last week with a friend on a mini reading/writing retreat. Or at least, that's what we told ourselves. In reality we chatted, gave each other reciprocal therapy (ie. calling each other's bullshit) and had a little shop. There are so many excellent little boutiques and shops there (compartmentalising that they are all run by DFLs and gentrifying the place). I loved the design store Asobi. I bought this Tiny Pen Pal set which came in handy when A locked himself in the toilet and wouldn't come out. I slid one of the mini 'I love you' cards under the door and he came out because he wanted to know what I had written. Turns out these, along with a bunch of other cool things were made by the people who run the shop. They also sold this Papier Tigre fountain pen which I very nearly bought in their store in Paris, so when I saw it in Margate I was like, ok fine, take my money. My friend (the author) Sara (Nisha Adams), has been telling me to get a fountain pen for ages, for writing notes/free writing/writing exercises etc... and she was right (as she is about most things).

P.S. London writing friends. Sara runs incredible, cosy writing workshops and is just starting them back up after maternity leave. If you're dabbling with fiction and trying to find your narrative voice, Sara's got you. Even as a non-fiction writer, I've found her workshops invaluable. The next one is at the Old Nursery Rooms in Tottenham on Tuesday 14th October at 7pm. Booking is essential - sign up here.

Do you remember Caramac chocolate? I used to love it as a kid, but no vegan version existed, until now. OmBar has just launched a blonde caramelised vegan chocolate. I brought some to my writing group last night who said it was even better than the original.
